Tips for erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is annoying, but fortunately there is often something you can do about it. These tips can help you. It is good to realize that it is normal that you cannot always get or keep an erection. This can differ from time to time. Many men sometimes have trouble getting an erection. So do not judge yourself and do not feel guilty. Here you will find tips to do something about an erection problem. If you cannot figure it out, your doctor can help you further.
Tips for erectile dysfunction
- Being physically fit reduces the chance of erectile dysfunction. Stop smoking, drink less alcohol, eat healthy and try to improve your condition by exercising for at least half an hour every day.
- That men always feel horny is a big misunderstanding, as a man you really don't always have to feel like having sex. Without the desire you also don't get an erection that easily. So only have sex when you feel like having sex!
- Extra stimulation of the penis. Sometimes touching or fantasizing is not enough to get an erection. Then provide extra stimulation, for example by holding the penis more firmly, using a lubricant or a vibrator for extra stimulation of the glans or the perineum (area between the scrotum and the anus).
- Stimulate your imagination. For some men it helps to fantasize more: use erotic films or photos for example.
- Regaining confidence. When you have difficulty getting an erection, your self-confidence can also decrease. You become less interested in having sex because you are afraid that it will not work. Try not to think about the times that it did not work.
- Don't stop having sex right away. If you have trouble with your erection during sex, try not to make a problem out of it. By continuing to touch each other and having sex in other ways, you keep it light and there is a greater chance that your erection will return.
- Sex is more than intercourse. Do you think that sex is only fun and 'successful' if you have had intercourse? Then you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself. Your erection problem will only get worse. Discover together how you can make love in other ways.
- Talk about it with your partner. Also make sure that arguments and irritations are spoken out and not stuck in your head.
Intercourse without an erection
Do you have difficulty or no erection? Then it is still possible to have intercourse. Intercourse without an erection can be very pleasant for both partners. The technique you can use for this is also called ‘stuffing’.
How does it work?
- The man lies on top of the woman and pushes his flaccid penis into the vagina.
- The woman can take the penis into her vagina by tensing the muscles of her vagina and moving her hips.
- The feeling of the penis in the vagina can be pleasant in itself, but it is also possible that the penis reflexively becomes stiff.
- Stuffing is also possible if the woman straddles the man (with one leg on each side).
- So-called Kegel exercises can help the woman to better control her vaginal muscles. This can also increase her pleasure during sex, because she can reach an orgasm more easily.
